The Island of Carloforte is a very special place, like "the island in the Island". We say this because it is very different from the rest of the territory of Sardinia. The Arabic influence determines many things in the local cuisine (couscous is a speciality). The Genoese dialect, still spoken, comes from Dorian domination.

Only a 30 minute cruise from Sant'Antioco, the island nearby, or from Portoscuso.
